THE DRY STONE [NO SOUND OF WATER] is an hybrid project that layers a data sonification of the rivers Po’s drought, an electroacoustic improvisation (featuring Angelo Brezza on drums and Andrea Marinelli on electronics) and reactive visuals (by Gabriele Faoro).

The fixed audio part is a 20 minutes long data sonification that transforms into sounds a series of data from the Italian river Po, which faced this summer its worst drought ever. This didn’t happen without notice, but it was something that was preparing for some time: the sonification spans the last two years of measurements, trying to portrait how the situation worsened month by month.
The project debouted on the 27th of September at MEET Digital Culture Center in Milan, as the closing event of "Oltre Il Visuale" the first italian conference on data sonification, organized by Paolo Ciuccarelli and Sara Lenzi.
A second installment of the project has been hosted during the 2022 Linecheck Festival at Base Milano, on the 25th of November
